Yokogawa Electric Corporation SSB401-53 Bus Interface Module

The Yokogawa SSB401-53 ESB Bus Interface Slave Module is a communication interface for Yokogawa ProSafe-RS safety instrumented systems, serving as the slave that connects safety node units to the ESB network to enable high-speed, redundant data exchange between controllers, I/O nodes, and system components. It uses an ESB Bus (redundant high-speed network) at roughly 1 Mbps and supports transmission distances up to ~1000 m via ESB cable, powered from 24 VDC with approximately 10 W consumption. Designed for reliability, it offers hot-swappable operation and IEC 61508-compliant fault tolerance, and is compatible with ProSafe-RS / CENTUM VP safety node units (SNB10D). Common replacements include SSB401-13 (older version), SB401-11, and SNT401 / SNT511 optical ESB extension modules.
