Watts Water Technologies M2 Pressure Reducing Valve

The Watts M2 (SS5) 1-1/4 in water pressure reducing valve automatically lowers incoming pressure to a controlled downstream setpoint in the 25–75 PSI range. Factory pressure is typically 50 PSI, and the valve tolerates inlet pressures up to 300 PSI, making it suitable for potable water in inline systems. By maintaining stable downstream pressure despite fluctuations in supply, it helps reduce water waste, minimize water hammer, and extend the life of plumbing components. The valve features a heavy-duty bronze or lead-free copper alloy body (configuration dependent) with threaded or union connections (model dependent) and a temperature rating up to 160°F (71°C). It is designed for commercial, industrial, and large residential water systems and is serviceable in-line for ongoing maintenance. Common replacements include Watts LFU5B-Z3, LF25AUB-Z3, and LF223.
