Thomas & Betts EYS3-TB Conduit Sealing Fitting

The Thomas & Betts EYS3-TB Conduit Sealing Fitting (Explosion-Proof Condulet/Unilet) is a 1 in. NPT, female-hub sealing device that anchors threaded rigid conduit in hazardous locations, preventing the passage of gases, vapors, and flames while preserving the integrity of explosion-proof electrical installations. Commonly installed in oil and gas facilities, refineries, chemical processing plants, grain handling facilities, and other Class I, II, and III environments, it supports vertical mounting only and is compatible with rigid metal conduit (RMC) and IMC. The assembly features a ductile iron body, gray iron plug, and steel nipple, finished with zinc plating and aluminum acrylic paint, plus a double-coated exterior (40 mil PVC) and interior urethane coating for durability. With a turning radius of 2.40 in, it is rated explosion-proof and dust-ignitionproof per UL 1203 and CSA C22.2 No. 30, suitable for Class I Division 1 & 2 (Groups A, B, C, D), Class II Division 1 (Groups E, F, G), and Class III applications per applicable EYS series ratings. It uses a Crouse-Hinds Chico A sealing compound with Chico X Fiber (or equivalent) and serves as a robust solution for new installations, hazardous-area retrofits, conduit-system maintenance, and replacement of existing conduit seals. Common replacements include EYS2-TB, EYS4-TB, and EYS5-TB.
