The Timken Company 9912 Radial Shaft Oil Seal

The Timken National 9912 radial shaft oil seal combines a nitrile (Buna-N) sealing element with a spring-loaded dual-lip design (Type 25) to provide reliable lubricant retention while excluding dirt, dust, moisture, and other contaminants from rotating equipment. Designed for rotary shaft sealing in industrial gearboxes, wheel-end hubs, pumps, compressors, electric motors, and agricultural equipment, it operates in environments from -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C) and supports a maximum shaft surface speed of 3,000 ft/min. Key dimensions include a shaft diameter of 1.875 in (47.625 mm), outside diameter of 2.865 in (72.771 mm), housing bore diameter of 2.877 in (73.076 mm), and overall width of 0.470 in (11.938 mm). The seal uses a solid steel case without an inner case, weighs approximately 0.21 lb (0.095 kg), and has a misalignment tolerance of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4,200 rpm.
