The Timken Company 417698 Radial Shaft Oil Seal

The Timken National 417698 radial shaft oil seal is a spring-loaded, multi-lip Type 41 seal that retains lubricants and prevents contaminants from entering rotating equipment. It is designed for general-purpose industrial shaft sealing in gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, conveyors, compressors, and other power transmission systems where dependable sealing is essential. Constructed with a nitrile (NBR) sealing element in a steel case with inner case and Redi-Coat, it features a shaft diameter of 3.625 in (92.075 mm), outside diameter of 4.381 in (111.277 mm), housing bore of 4.376 in (111.150 mm), and an overall width of 0.375 in (9.525 mm). The seal supports a maximum shaft surface speed of 3000 ft/min, with misalignment tolerance of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, a pressure rating of 7 psi, and an operating temperature range from -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C).
