The Timken Company 417191 Radial Shaft Oil Seal

The Timken National 417191 radial shaft oil seal is a spring-loaded, Type 41 multi-lip seal designed to retain lubricants and exclude contaminants from rotating equipment such as industrial gearboxes, pumps, reducers, conveyors, electric motors, and compressors. It features a nitrile (NBR) sealing lip and a steel case with inner case, plus Redi-Coat protection, and is sized for a shaft diameter of 3.375 in (85.725 mm), an outside diameter of 4.506 in (114.452 mm), a housing bore of 4.500 in (114.300 mm), and an overall width of 0.500 in (12.700 mm). The seal is designed for a maximum shaft surface speed of 3000 ft/min, with misalignment tolerance of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, and operates from -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). It is part of Series 410000 and uses a multi-lip with spring configuration; common replacements include SKF 417191, CR 417191, and National 417191.
