SYMAX 8030-RIM-144 Input Module

The SYMAX 8030-RIM-144 is a multiplexed BCD input module for SYMAX Class 8030 PLCs that converts manual BCD thumbwheel entries into digital signals for the control logic. It offers up to sixteen register addresses and supports four‑digit BCD thumbwheels (0–9999) with diode‑isolated Nines Complement. The field wiring terminals accept 8 wires of 24 AWG per terminal, and the maximum distance to the thumbwheels is 200 ft (60 m). Operating voltage is 0–12 VDC; the module draws up to 625 mA from the SY/MAX power supply, and no external power supply is required for module operation, though a user‑provided power source powers the BCD device to the digital decoder. The enable/data handshake runs at 1818 Hz, with data read at twice that frequency. Data line input for logic 1 is sink 1 µA max at 3.5 V min, while data line input for logic 0 is source 2.5 mA max at 1.5 V. The enable output logic 1 level source is 250 µA max at 4.0 V min; the logic 0 sink is 300 mA max at 1.5 V max. The module operates in 0–60°C and 5–95% RH non-condensing, and includes a red fault LED. Used with SY/MAX PLC systems, it provides a compact source of BCD input from thumbwheel devices for numeric control of automation tasks.
