The Sun Hydraulics 9008-311-C04 Hydraulic Reducing Valve is a cartridge-style pressure-control valve that reduces a high inlet pressure (port 2) to a controlled, lower output pressure at port 1, with port 3 serving as the adjustment-spring-chamber drain. Sun describes these reducing cartridges as normally open and fully adjustable across a broad range, with flow capacities up to 80 gpm (320 L/min) and adjustable outlet pressures up to 4500 psi (315 bar), while supporting inlet pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The cartridge includes a 150-micron stainless-steel screen to protect the orifice, and Sun notes that reducing and reducing/relieving cartridges are functionally interchangeable within the same frame size.
