Steiner AF-103436 Autofacer

Steiner AF-103436 Autofacer is an automatic back counterboring tool that machines circular features on the back side of a through-hole workpiece by passing through the hole and cutting on the far face. Entry is accomplished by folding the cutting blade into the tool body, then deploying it to cut; a friction clutch mechanically opens and closes the blade to control cutting, with the blade held open during heavy, interrupted cuts. The Autofacer family supports multiple activation methods, including cone-activated, flywheel (inertia) activated, torque-bar activated, as well as air or coolant activated and pad- or ring-activated configurations, enabling compatibility with different machines and processes. In the standard lineup, counterbore diameters range from 9.5 mm to 33 mm, with stock Autofacers available in inch or metric Weldon shanks and full pilot-hole support during cutting. The KA-Series Autofacers are specialized for machining seat pockets and clearance bores on gate valves, using expandable bushings and modular dampeners to support the tool during cutting and eliminate the need for a tight diameter tolerance on the work bore, with modular lengths offered in 6" and 12" increments and no W-axis required on typical CNC machines.
