SSAC ECS41BC Protection Relay

SSAC ECS41BC is a Littelfuse ECS Series single‑phase current-sensing protection relay that combines a built‑in toroidal current sensor with a 10 A SPDT isolated output, allowing straightforward control of AC loads based on monitored current. The unit is designed for 120 VAC operation and features on‑board adjustments for current sensing mode (overcurrent or undercurrent), trip point, and trip delay, giving flexible protection for motors, heaters, lamps, and other AC loads. The sensing range is 2–20 A, with a trip delay adjustable from 0.5 to 50 seconds, and the output is a 10 A isolated relay that can drive AC circuits. The ECS41BC is encapsulated to resist shock, vibration, and humidity and is rated for -40 to 60 C operation, with certifications including UL Recognized, CSA, and CE. Operation is straightforward: supply voltage must be present for proper functionality; if a fault is sensed during the trip delay, the output relay energizes; if the current returns to normal before the delay ends, the trip delay resets, and if a fault is corrected before completion, the relay will not energize. This makes it suitable for detecting conditions like locked rotor, loss of load, or open heater/lamp loads and proving that a control event is taking place or has ended.
