Spirax Sarco UTD52L Cool Blue Universal Thermodynamic Steam Trap is a compact, 1/2-inch bar-stock, disc-type trap designed for efficient condensate removal in small steam circuits, featuring a universal connector that supports left- or right-hand installation with NPT or SW connections and a distinctive blue-cap “Cool Blue” styling. As a thermodynamic trap, it cycles to discharge condensate very close to steam temperature by responding to pressure differences, helping preserve heat transfer efficiency while minimizing live steam loss in boiler headers, heat exchangers, and compact steam-using loops. The standard UTD52L variant is rated to 450 PSIG (31 bar g) and is available with a universal connector compatible with ANSI B16.11 connections; higher-capacity HP versions (UTD52L-HP) extend to greater pressures.
