The Allen-Bradley 1756SC-IF8U is Spectrum Controls’ universal 8‑channel analog input module for ControlLogix backplanes, designed to fit in any I/O slot of a 1756 chassis and provide eight independent analog channels. Each channel can be configured to accept thermocouple, RTD or resistance inputs, as well as current (0-20 mA, 4-20 mA) and voltage (0-5 V, 1-5 V, 0-10 V, ±10 V) signals, enabling mixed-signal measurements in a single module. The module uses sigma‑delta A/D conversion with a low‑pass digital filter and five independently selectable notch frequencies per channel, delivering 16‑ to 21‑bit effective resolution depending on filter choice; with all eight channels enabled, update times range from about 0.99 s at 10 Hz to 0.04 s at 1000 Hz.
