SMC 5100-04-IT Gas Sensor

The SMC 5100-04-IT Gas Sensor is an electrochemical carbon monoxide (CO) sensor module designed to plug into Sierra Monitor’s Sentry IT fixed-gas-detection systems for real-time CO monitoring in industrial environments. It carries factory alarm setpoints of 50 ppm and 100 ppm, enabling early warning when CO concentrations reach these thresholds. For integration, the 5100-04-IT supports multiple outputs: a 4-20 mA analog current, RS-485 Modbus RTU serial interface, or the SMC Sentry digital bus interface, with optional relays (up to 8 A for alarms and a 2 A for trouble signaling). The sensor is available in a standard aluminum enclosure and in a stainless-steel enclosure variant, model 5100-04-IT-SS, for harsher environments. As part of the 5100-IT family, it is used in fixed-gas detectors to provide reliable CO monitoring in industrial facilities, including applications where continuous toxic gas surveillance is critical for safety and compliance.
