Siko SG61-0005 Glass Scale for Linear Positioning

The SIKO SG61-0005 is a rugged draw-wire (seilzug) encoder for precise linear positioning, delivering a measuring range up to 6,000 mm with a durable aluminum/plastic housing suited to industrial environments. The rope mechanism uses a Ø0.6 mm wire available in rustproof stainless steel, stainless steel with a plastic coating, or para-line, delivering about 200 mm of rope travel per drum revolution and an extension force of at least 8 N. It offers tight accuracy, with absolute accuracy of ±0.1% of the final value and a repeatability of ±0.15 mm (unidirectional, mechanical); it supports travel speeds up to 3,000 mm/s and operates across a wide temperature range (-20 to 80 °C in standard mode, and -40 to 80 °C when winding speeds are limited to ≤800 mm/s). Protection class depends on the installed rotary encoder and the exact machine configuration, ensuring flexibility in integration. For interfacing, SG61-0005 is designed to pair with a range of SIKO rotary encoders to provide diverse outputs, including analog (AV3650M, AV58M), incremental (IV5800), or absolute (WV58MR, WV5800M, WV5850, WV3650M, WV36M/CAN) signals, enabling either incremental or absolute position reporting in automation and positioning systems.
