Siemens 6EP1961-3BA00 Buffer Module

The Siemens SITOP 6EP1961-3BA00 Puffermodul (Buffer Module) is a mains buffer module designed to extend hold-up time for SITOP modular power supplies in industrial automation. It works with stabilized 24 V load power units in the SITOP family, such as the 6EP1436-3BA00 20 A or the 6EP1437-3BA00 40 A models, providing short-term energy during transient outages. The module accepts a 24–28.8 V DC input and delivers buffer times that depend on load current: about 100 ms at a 40 A load, 200 ms at 20 A, and up to roughly 3 seconds at low load, enabling safe system shutdown or continuity for critical processes. It is part of the SITOP buffer lineup designed for 6EP1X3X-3BA00 systems, and proper installation uses standard Siemens guidelines, including a connector tightening torque of 1.2 Nm for secure wiring.
