The Siemens 6DD1660-0AB0 SIMADYN D CS12 Master Coupling Communication Module is a fiber-optic master interface in the SIMADYN D system that links one master subrack to a single CS22 slave subrack via a CS12-to-CS22 connection. It uses a fiber-optic (LWL) link for high-speed data transfer with a maximum subrack separation of up to 500 meters and supports synchronization through a unified system clock. In the SIMADYN D family, CS12 (1 slave), CS13 (4 slaves), and CS14 (8 slaves) modules form the master side of the network, with CS22 slaves and a shared data path implemented in the module's dual-port RAM to enable fast, deterministic communication. Both the master and slave units can be disabled or disconnected at any time, and the system supports parallel coupling of multiple subracks, up to nine SIMADYN D racks in a single configuration.
