SICK WTB4-3P3461 Sensor

The SICK WTB4-3P3461 is a miniature photoelectric sensor from SICK’s W4 family that uses background suppression to reliably detect small parts on conveyors and in tight spaces. It emits a visible red PinPoint LED at 650 nm and offers a sensing range from 4 mm to 150 mm maximum, with a typical operating range of 15–150 mm and a spot size of about Ø7 mm at 50 mm. The unit features a 5-turn potentiometer for distance adjustment and a 3‑wire (PNP) output, powered by 10–30 V DC with ripple <5 Vpp and about 20 mA current consumption. Its LED life is rated at approximately 100,000 hours at 25°C, and it can detect objects with up to 90% reflectivity (DIN 5033 standard white). This configuration makes the WTB4-3P3461 well-suited for compact, high-precision presence/absence checks and small-part detection in automated fabrication, packaging, and material-handling applications where background suppression enhances reliability.
