SICK WS12L-2D430 Photoelectric Switch Through Beam
SICK WS12L-2D430 Photoelectric Switch Through Beam
Description:
WS12L-2D430 is a through-beam photoelectric sender from SICK in the WS12L family, designed to pair with the WE12L-2P430 receiver to form a long-range through-beam switch. It emits a visible red laser at 650 nm across a maximum range of 0 to 80 meters, with a beam spot of about Ø150 mm at 60 meters, enabling reliable detection of small parts or fast-moving objects on conveyors and packaging lines. The device is powered from 10 to 30 V DC and offers front-panel potentiometer adjustment for setup, while the receiver handles the threshold and output signaling. Included mounting hardware comprises two BEF-KH-W12 clamps with screws. As a laser emitter, it uses a laser class 2 output and has a pulse length of 4 μs with a max pulse power below 5 mW; safety guidance states not to look into the beam and never aim at people’s eyes. The WS12L-2D430 family lists an MTTF (DC avg) of 396 years and a service life around 50,000 hours at 25 °C, reflecting strong reliability in harsh industrial environments. Typical applications include high-speed detection of small objects and object presence along production lines, conveyors, and packaging systems where a dedicated receiver (WE12L-2P4301) completes the sensing pair.
