SICK WL9L-N430 Photoelectric Reflex Sensor System
SICK WL9L-N430 Photoelectric Reflex Sensor System
Description:
The SICK WL9L-N430 Photoelectric Reflex Sensor is a compact, laser-based retro-reflective sensor designed for precise object detection at distances up to 12 meters when used with a reflector such as the PL80A. Encased in a small rectangular housing (12 mm W × 40 mm H × 22 mm D) that supports a durable setup, it uses a 4‑pin M12 connector for DC power and switching output. Operating from 10–30 V DC and drawing about 35 mA, the sensor delivers an NPN switching output suitable for low‑side switching in industrial circuits. Its sensing range spans 0.1 m to 12 m, with a visible red laser light source classified as laser class 2, and a laser spot size of about 1 mm at a distance of 0.5 m, enabling detection of small targets with high precision. The WL9L-N430 is part of SICK’s W9 family, featuring a teach‑in button for straightforward setup and reliable reflex operation without a separate emitter, making it well suited for conveyor, packaging, and general automation applications where space is at a premium. Reflector-based operation with compatible PL80A reflectors supports stable, repeatable detection of moving or stationary parts, and the device’s compact form factor helps minimize installation footprint in tight spaces while delivering solid performance in typical industrial environments.
