SICK WL12G-3O2431 NSNBC01 Photoelectric Sensor

The SICK WL12G-3O2431 is a compact retro-reflective photoelectric sensor in SICK’s W12 family that uses autocollimation to detect targets by the light returned from a dedicated reflector. It operates from 10 to 30 V DC and offers a PNP output with light/dark switching, making it flexible for sourcing or sinking wiring in automation. The sensing range spans 0 to 4 meters, and the device uses a visible red light at 640 nm to aid alignment and diagnostics. Adjustment is via a potentiometer with 11 turns for precision timing and switching behavior. Installation options include a head with a 4-pin M12 female connector (head A) or a 5 m sensor/actuator cable (head B), enabling easy integration into tight spaces or extended runs. The WL12G-3O2431 provides robust protection with IP66/IP67/IP69K ratings, suitable for dusty, wet, and high-pressure washdown environments typical of many production floors. In addition, it can detect reflective surfaces and, with the PL80A reflector, certain transparent objects, broadening its applicability in packaging or labeling lines. A long service life—around 100,000 hours at 25°C—supports demanding, continuous operation. This model is well suited for compact conveyor sections, presence sensing on assemblies, and other automation tasks where a small, rugged retro-reflective sensor is preferred.
