SICK S30A-XXXXBA I Module

The SICK S30A-XXXXBA I Module is a member of the S3000 Standard Series, combining a safety laser scanner head with an integrated I/O module for indoor machine guarding. It supports monitoring of multiple protective fields with up to four fields simultaneously and communicates safely via EFI, enabling reliable Safe SICK device communication on automation lines. The device provides a protective field range of up to 7 meters and is rated Type 3 under IEC 61496, with a mission time of 20 years as specified for its safety integrity rating (EN ISO 13849). It can deliver measured data output through RS-422 and supports external device monitoring (EDM) and dynamic protective field switching, making it suitable for guarding conveyors, presses, and other automated equipment where flexible field configurations and robust safety communication are required. The S30A family, including the BA variant, is designed for 24 V DC operation and integrates with Safe controls and EFI networks to streamline safety architectures on compact floor layouts.
