SICK OD1-B100C50A15 Optical Displacement Sensor

The OD1-B100C50A15 OD Mini displacement sensor from SICK is a compact optical displacement unit that measures 50–150 mm with 20 µm repeatability and ±100 µm linearity, enabling precise position checks in automated lines. It emits a red laser (laser class 1, IEC 60825-1) and projects a spot about 700 µm by 600 µm at 100 mm, delivering stable readings across the sensing range. With a response time of at least 2 ms and a maximum measurement frequency of 2 kHz, it can track relatively fast-moving targets, and the sensor head can be used with the AOD1 evaluation unit or stand-alone via RS-485; a PROFIBUS DP version is available with a 5-pin M12 connector and PNP/NPN outputs. A multifunction input supports laser-off, external teach-in, or trigger, and switching modes include window (Wnd), distance to object (DtO), and object between sensor and background (ObSB), making the OD Mini suitable for gap measurement, reference-position monitoring, and other inline displacement tasks in packaging, robotics, and material handling.
