SICK LUT3-820 Through-Beam Photoelectric Sensor
SICK LUT3-820 Through-Beam Photoelectric Sensor
Description:
The SICK LUT3-820 luminescence sensor (part number 1012868) is a compact ultraviolet (375 nm) detector designed to sense luminescent indicators at distances up to 20 mm. It comes in a housing measuring 30.4 mm wide, 53 mm high, and 80 mm deep, with a light spot of 3 x 9 mm and a standard KV 418 receiving filter to suppress background luminescence. The device operates from 12–30 V DC, drawing less than 60 mA, and offers a switching frequency of 1.5 kHz with a fast 350 µs response time. Output is a light-switching type configurable for either PNP or NPN drive, with HIGH defined as VS– (≤ 3 V) and LOW near 0 V, and it supports up to 8 A in circuits protected against short circuits. Ripple is < 2 Vpp, and the current device delivers an average service life of up to 100,000 hours at +25°C. Adjustment is via a front-end potentiometer, and the receiver responds to signals within a 450–750 nm range, while the emission uses 375 nm light to excite luminescent materials. This LUT3-820 is suitable for automation tasks that rely on detecting luminescent signals under UV illumination, offering a robust, compact solution with clear electrical and optical specifications.
