SICK LUT3-650 Luminescence Sensor

The LUT3-650 luminescence sensor from SICK is a rugged luminescence detector in a metal housing (30.4 mm W × 53 mm H × 80 mm D) with an IP67 rating, designed for diffuse-reflective sensing of luminescent features on packaging, labels, or parts in automated production lines. It excites luminescence with a UV LED at 375 nm and collects emitted light in the 450–750 nm range, featuring a 5 mm × 15 mm light spot that emits from the long side with a vertical orientation and a receiver filtered to suppress shorter wavelengths (<420 nm) for background luminescence rejection, while offering a sensing distance up to 50 mm within a 30–60 mm working range, and connecting via a 4-pin M12 connector. The device is powered from 12–30 V DC, provides a light-switching output with PNP/NPN options, uses a potentiometer for fine adjustment, and lists a long-term service life of up to 100,000 hours at 25 °C, making it suitable for high-cycle luminescence detection on conveyors, labeling stations, and other front-line automation tasks.
