SICK EL4-P2638 Photoelectric Retro-Reflective Sensor

The SICK EL4-P2638 is a compact M18-thread photoelectric retro-reflective sensor (part no. 1047826) that emits a visible red 660 nm beam and uses reflection from a target or reflector for detection. It offers a sensing range of 0.1 m to 3 m in standard operation and up to 4.8 m with the PL80A reflector, with a 125 mm × 125 mm light spot at 1 m. Power is supplied from 10 V to 30 V DC, drawing about 20 mA, and the device provides a PNP, light-switching output rated for up to 50 mA with a switching frequency up to 400 Hz and ripple under 5 Vpp. Built for rugged industrial use, the sensor’s housing measures 23.8 × 46.7 × 33.6 mm, is IP67-protected, and uses a 4-pin M8 connector for wiring; PL80A is the specified reflector for extended range.
