Sick EL4-P2438 Photoelectric Retro-Reflective Sensor

Compact SICK EL4-P2438 Photoelectric Retro-Reflective Sensor detects targets up to 4.8 m using a 660 nm red LED in a retro-reflective configuration with the PL80A reflector. It operates from 10–30 V DC and draws about 20 mA, with a PNP switching output that handles up to 50 mA and switches at up to 400 Hz. The sensor presents a 125 mm × 125 mm light spot at 1 m, and its housing measures 23.8 × 46.7 × 33.6 mm with an M18 thread and an M8 connector for mounting and wiring. It includes reverse-polarity protection on the supply input and output short‑circuit protection, and is documented under part number 1044691 (EL4-P2438) in the SICK ELF4 family. For installation, PL80A is the specified reflector to achieve the listed sensing range, and the device uses visible red light for sensing.
