SICK CS84-P3612 Color Sensor

Compact, PNP color sensor CS84-P3612 from SICK belongs to the CS8 family and uses a tri-color RGB LED (640 nm red, 525 nm green, 470 nm blue) to illuminate targets for diffuse-reflective color detection up to 60 mm away, with a sensing distance tolerance of ±9 mm. Its light spot measures 13 by 13 mm, and the housing, 30.4 mm wide, 80 mm high and 53 mm deep, includes a TW60 lens out of the box. The device is powered from 10–30 V DC and draws under 120 mA, with ripple under 5 Vpp, and offers switching frequencies of 0.5 kHz, 1 kHz, and 3.5 kHz (with a 1:1 light/dark ratio). It provides a PNP output via an 8-pin M12 connector and features a front-panel teach-in button with static 1-point teach-in to quickly set color references. The RGB sensor is specified for up to 100,000 hours of service life at 25°C, and its included lens and compact form factor make it suitable for installation in tight spaces on packaging lines, color-sorting stations, or quality-control checkpoints where reliable color discrimination is required.
