SICK CDB420-001 Connection Module

The SICK CDB420-001 Connection Module is a compact interface that links a single SICK 1D/2D code reader to a host, CAN scanner network, and peripheral equipment, while drawing power from a 10–30 V DC supply (typical 1 W). It provides a D-Sub HD 15-pin socket for the reader connection and a 9-pin plug for auxiliary signaling, plus four cable glands and five LEDs that indicate status. The standard CDB420-001 (1023885) is part of a family that includes CDB420-101 (CAN bus via two M12 connectors) and CDB420-201, and can be expanded with the CMC400 cloning module to store configuration externally. For mounting, the module uses a base compatible with other SICK components such as the CMC600, and includes a 1.2 A fuse for supply protection. Supported readers include CLV42x–CLV45x, CLV480, CLV/X490, ICR84x-2, and ICR85x-2, enabling connection to a host system or CAN scanner network and distribution of power to peripheral devices. In factory automation, material handling, and packaging lines, the CDB420-001 provides a compact, wired interface with integrated power and status indicators to simplify wiring and reduce panel space.
