Sharp JW-232S Programmable Logic Controller Module

Sharp JW-232S is a 32-point DC output module (sink output) designed for use with the JW20H family of Sharp programmable controllers. It provides 32 transistor outputs for direct control of DC loads, supporting load voltages of 5, 12, or 24 V DC (load voltage range 4.75–30 V). Each output is rated for 0.1 A, with a common total of 1.6 A per common rail, and the outputs are grouped into two commons (COM.AB and COM.CD) offering 16 points per common. A 2 A fuse is built in (non-replaceable), and the unit consumes up to 320 mA at DC5 V. Status is indicated by an ON LED. The module uses optocoupler isolation between the control circuitry and the output stage, with an isolation rating of AC 1000 V for 1 minute between the output terminals and the secondary circuit and insulation resistance greater than 10 MΩ at 500 V DC. Wiring uses a 40-pin connector (solder-type) that accepts AWG 23–26 wires, and the package includes one 40P connector. The JW-232S weighs approximately 410 g and features fast switching, with responses typically ≤1 ms for both OFF→ON and ON→OFF transitions under resistive loads. This DC output unit is tailored for integration with Sharp JW20H-series controllers to provide compact, reliable sinking outputs for a wide range of DC devices.
