Description:

The Allen-Bradley 1794-AENTR Flex I/O EtherNet/IP Adapter is a dual-port EtherNet/IP communications adapter engineered for FLEX I/O, serving as the bridge between a FLEX I/O rack and an EtherNet/IP network; it provides redundant media (DLR) to support ring-based topologies and minimize downtime by enabling rapid switchover between primary and secondary links when network or device faults occur. Operating at 100 Mbps, the AENTR supports two Ethernet ports that can be configured to create a Device Level Ring (DLR) around the FLEX I/O infrastructure, which helps maintain uninterrupted I/O data flow to and from the FLEX I/O modules while the control system detects and recovers from a path failure. As a FLEX I/O Ethernet/IP adapter, it integrates with a wide range of 1794 FLEX modules and connects remote I/O modules to Rockwell Automation controllers, making it suitable for distributed automation applications where scalable I/O expansion, predictable timing, and robust communication with ControlLogix or CompactLogix processors are essential.
