Schneider Electric VW3A3616 Ethernet IP Modbus TCP Module

The VW3A3616 is Schneider Electric’s dual-port Ethernet TCP/IP communication module for Altivar drives, providing native Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP connectivity so your variable speed drive can communicate directly with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems over standard Ethernet networks. It offers 10/100 Mbps Ethernet via two RJ45 connectors and supports up to eight concurrent connections, including Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP sessions, enabling multiple controllers or software clients to exchange control and diagnostic data with the drive. Designed to integrate with Altivar Machine drives (such as ATV320), this module eliminates the need for separate gateways by handling protocol messaging on the drive itself, allowing straightforward data read/write of common Modbus registers and EtherNet/IP tags. This module expands interoperability by letting the drive participate in Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP networks, enabling centralized monitoring and control from PLCs or SCADA systems without adding external gateways.
