Schneider Electric TSXDSY16R5 Digital Output Module

Schneider Electric TSXDSY16R5 is a 16-channel discrete relay output module for the Modicon Premium programmable automation controller (PAC) family. Each of its 16 relay outputs handles up to a 3 A thermal current, enabling direct switching of moderate loads such as signaling devices, relays, or small actuators, while the unit consumes about 0.25 W per channel. The module uses a removable 16‑position screw-terminal block for straightforward field wiring and includes built‑in short‑circuit and overload protection, along with overvoltage protection suitable for inductive DC/AC loads. The outputs are relay-type and do not feature internal contact protection, so appropriate precautions are required when wiring inductive or high-inrush loads. Designed for Modicon Premium controllers, TSXDSY16R5 mounts in standard I/O racks as part of Schneider’s discrete I/O offering. Note that Schneider Electric lists TSXDSY16R5 as discontinued for commercialization as of December 2, 2020, with end-of-service planned for December 31, 2026 in lifecycle notices. A wiring caveat from Schneider specifies that if a pre-actuator supply voltage from a three-phase network is equal to or greater than 200 VAC, pre‑actuators must be supplied from the same phase.
