Schneider Electric TBUM297900 Battery NSMP Module is a compact 56 x 79 x 22 mm battery-monitoring module designed for use with the EcoStruxure Battery Management System, with one NSMP module typically dedicated to each battery block to provide real-time health data to the management system. The enclosure is rated IP42 and supports 0 °C to 60 °C operation in up to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing). In normal operation, the device draws 15–20 mA for standard battery blocks (C20, C23, C30) and 35–40 mA for higher-current blocks (C40, C41), with a sleep current below 1 mA. It measures internal resistance with a resolution of 0.5 mΩ and reports voltage and temperature with respective accuracies: internal resistance for C2x/C30 under 5%, C4x under 10%, voltage under 0.5%, and temperature under 15%. Supported battery chemistries include lead-acid (Pb), NiCd, NiMH, and lithium. Mounting options include Velcro directly on the battery; if using an external temperature sensor, mounting on a DIN rail with a clip is possible. The TBUM297900 carries UL, CSA, and CE certifications. By design, it integrates with Schneider Electric’s BMS to monitor each battery block's status and resilience, enabling proactive maintenance and optimized battery utilization.
