Schneider Electric ACE949-2 (59642) RS485 interface module is a two‑wire RS485 interface for Sepam protection relays, connecting Sepam 20, 40, 60, and 80 base units to an RS485 network. It provides an electrical interface between Sepam and a 2‑wire RS485 network and uses an external distributed power supply of 12 V DC or 24 V DC ±10%, drawing 16 mA in receive mode and up to 40 mA when transmitting. The module mounts on a symmetric DIN rail and operates from -25°C to +70°C. Maximum RS485 cable length varies by power supply and number of Sepams: with 12 V DC, up to 320 m for five Sepams (down to 125 m for 25 Sepams); with 24 V DC, up to 1,000 m for five Sepams (down to 375 m for 25 Sepams).
