Schneider Electric 140XBE10000 Expansion Module

Schneider Electric's 140XBE10000 backplane expander is a dedicated Modicon Quantum accessory that extends a Quantum backplane to a second rack, enabling a larger local or remote I/O drop while preserving the processor’s position and the overall backplane topology. Within a Quantum system, only one 140XBE10000 expander is permitted per baseboard, and the device employs a Sub-D 37-pin connector; to bridge to the next backplane you must use the 140XCA7170 expansion cable in a one-to-one connection, with the expander drawing up to 500 mA from the backplane bus. Schneider’s guidance also describes adding a second backplane on a local or remote I/O drop by using two 140XBE10000 modules and the appropriate backplane extender cable, enabling multiple backplanes within the same Quantum deployment.
