Schneider Electric 140DRA84000 Discrete Output Module

Schneider Electric's Modicon Quantum 140DRA84000 is a 16-channel relay discrete output module (Form A, normally open) designed for use in a Modicon Quantum PLC I/O rack. It provides 16 independent outputs capable of switching loads across multiple voltage ranges: 20–250 V AC, 30–150 V DC, or 5–30 V DC. Per-channel current handling includes up to 1 A at 250/30 V AC/DC (cos φ 0.4), up to 2 A for resistive loads at 250/30 V AC/DC, and up to 300 mA for 30–50 V DC resistive loads, with a capacitive surge rating of 10 A for 10 ms. The module offers isolation of 1780 Vrms AC between channels and 2500 V DC between channels and the bus, helping protect the controller and other I/O. Power dissipation is specified at 5.5 W plus 0.5 W per active point, and the unit provides a green LED for bus communication and a red LED for external fault indication. Durability specs include 10,000,000 mechanical cycles and extensive electrical endurance ratings across the supported load profiles. Note that Schneider Electric scheduled the 140DRA84000 for discontinuation on December 31, 2022, with end-of-service anticipated in 2030.
