Schneider Electric 140CPU53414A Quantum CPU Module is the central processing unit for Modicon Quantum 534 PLC systems, delivering the execution environment for ladder logic and control routines in industrial automation applications. This A-suffix revision replaces the original 140CPU53414; the two variants are functionally identical, but in hot standby configurations you must pair two identical modules (two A models or two non-A models) to ensure synchronized operation. The module uses a 133 MHz processor and is designed to work with Schneider's programming tools such as Concept, ProWORX, and Modsoft, enabling you to develop, load, and monitor control programs across the Quantum platform. While still used in existing installations, Schneider Electric discontinued the 140CPU53414A as of September 15, 2025; Schneider now recommends migrating to the M580 family, such as the Level 2 remote harsh environment module BMEP582040H, for new designs or replacements, to preserve compatibility with Quantum I/O and communication modules where feasible.
