Description:

Schmersal TZFCWS24VDC is a four-direction, electro-mechanically actuated safety locking device designed to secure hinged, removable, or sliding guards on industrial machinery. With a 24 VDC control voltage and a holding force of up to 1500 N, it provides reliable guard locking for safety circuits while enabling power-to-unlock operation. The unit offers two safety contacts and two auxiliary contacts, and it carries IP65/IP67 protection for challenging environments. It is built in a glass-fibre reinforced thermoplastic housing and operates from 0 to 50 C with non-condensing humidity, and it withstands up to Ui 250 VAC and 2.5 kV impulses. Electrical data include a thermal test current of 4 A, a 24 VDC DC-13 rating of 4 A, and a maximum power consumption of 8.5 W; its switching principle is slow action, with a maximum switching frequency of 1,200 cycles per hour. The magnet switch-on time is 100%, with test pulses up to 5 ms and a minimum interval of 50 ms. EN ISO 13849-1 safety classification reaches up to PL c, reflecting its suitability for safety-related functions. Dimensional data list a width of 129 mm and a height of 92.5 mm; the unit uses a 24 VDC control interface and includes the TZ/CO actuator in delivery, along with a manual release accessible via a triangular M3 key. Applications span securing guard doors in automation lines, including hinged, removable, and sliding guards where reliable mechanical latching and easy release are required.
