Schmersal Group AZ17-02ZRK Safety Door Switch

Schmersal AZ 17-02ZRK is a hinged, key-operated safety door switch from the AZ 17 family that provides two normally closed safety contacts and two actuating directions, enabling reliable monitoring of guarded machine access. The device affords a 30 N latching force, an 11 mm positive break travel, and actuation speeds up to 2 m/s, suitable for fast-moving doors. It complies with EN IEC 60947-5-1 and supports Safety Levels up to PLc (single-channel) and PLd (two-channel) with a suitable logic unit, categorized as Category 1 for one-channel use and Category 3 for two-channel configurations. Electrical life is rated at 2,000,000 operations per contact (B10d). The electrical contacts are silver, and the safety contacts accept AC-15 at 230 VAC up to 4 A or DC-13 at 24 VDC up to 4 A. The housing is plastic and the unit weighs about 85 g; IDC termination enables simple connection of flexible conductors, and the actuator must be ordered separately, with a dust-proof slot cover included for unused openings. The AZ 17-02ZRK supports various guard configurations, including hinged, removable, or sliding guards; variants such as AZ 17-02ZRK-ST use separate actuators to suit different installation geometries.
