Schmersal AZM 161SK-12 12RK-110 230 Safety Interlock Switch

AZM 161SK-12/12RK-110/230 is Schmersal’s six-contact safety interlock switch for hinged or sliding machine guards, designed to prevent incorrect locking in electromechanical safety circuits. Housed in a glass-fibre reinforced thermoplastic enclosure, it is IP67-rated and includes a large wiring compartment plus four M16 x 1.5 cable entries for easy panel routing. The interlock provides two normally open and four normally closed contacts (magnet: 1 NO, 2 NC; actuator: 1 NO, 2 NC) to support common safety configurations. It operates on 110/230 VAC control power, drawing up to 10 W, with a rated insulation voltage of 250 VAC and an impulse withstand of 4 kV. Dimensions are 130 mm × 90 mm × 30 mm; cable entries accept 0.25–1.5 mm² conductors. The unit meets EN IEC 60947-5-1, EN ISO 13849-1 and EN ISO 14119, and carries CCC and cULus approvals. The actuator must be ordered separately, and manual release on the cover side is available via an optional M5 triangular key. Typical applications include safety gates on presses, conveyors and packaging lines requiring robust locking and reliable interlock action.
