Schmersal AZ 16 ST1-AS RB Industrial Safety Switch

AZ 16 ST1-AS RB ASI-SAW is a compact Schmersal safety interlock switch designed for safeguarding access to hazardous machinery, pairing a separate coded actuator with an integrated AS-Interface Safety at Work (ASI-SAW) network interface. The device’s thermoplastic enclosure measures 52 x 90 x 30 mm, and it uses a bottom-mounted M12 four-pole plug for ASI connectivity, complemented by an ASI LED status display to confirm communications; the actuator is coded to resist tampering and ensure proper pairing with the corresponding actuator. The RB variant provides a latching safety function with selectable latch forces of 5 N or 30 N, and the unit carries ASi-SaW and cULus approvals. Operating temperature ranges from -25 to 60 °C and the housing is IP67 rated, making it suitable for rugged industrial environments. This safety switch is intended for door interlocking on guards and access points where AS-i Safety at Work is deployed, offering robust protection through integrated safety electronics in a compact form factor.
