Saftronics SAF CA460 Processor Card

The Saftronics SAF CA460 Processor Card is a high-speed multiprocessor module that executes block programs created on a PC with an SBL editor package. In a Saftronics control rack, the CA460 accepts inputs from other cards in the same rack and updates outputs under the control of the downloaded block program. Each physical rack must have one and only one CA460 multiprocessor card, making it the central processing unit for that rack's control logic. The card is powered from standard Saftronics rails, drawing 5 VDC at up to 600 mA, with no current on the +15 VDC and -15 VDC rails during normal operation. According to Saftronics' SAFphire hardware documentation, the CA460 is designed to run user-defined block programs and interact with sibling I/O and communication cards to implement real-time control tasks. This makes it suitable for applications requiring compact, rack-mounted processing for discrete or process control systems, where reliable, deterministic execution of control logic is essential.
