Reliance Electric 86466-69R Thyristor Assembly

Reliance Electric 86466-69R is a rectifier stack thyristor assembly used in Reliance drive systems. The unit is built on a flat base with two side heat sinks separated by a central carrier; SCR diodes are mounted on the inside faces of the shorter vertical carriers and interconnected by red and white braided wiring to circuit boards mounted on the bottom of the central carrier and to top-side boards. Two small circuit boards are mounted to the bottom of each side of the central carrier, and a single small board sits atop the outermost heat sink on each side. The very top of the assembly hosts two large fuse components and two large capacitors, with metal-oxide varitors providing spike protection. This model is no longer actively manufactured by Reliance but remains available through surplus channels and repair services, reflecting its historical role in Reliance/Asea Brown Boveri/Baldor-Reliance drive systems.
