Reliance Electric 57652-A Universal Drive Controller

The Reliance Electric 57652-A Universal Drive Controller is an AutoMax DPS module that provides drive control for one or two AC and/or DC drives within Reliance Electric AutoMax distributed power systems. It plugs into the backplane of an AutoMax storage rack and communicates with the rack’s processor, enabling centralized control of multiple drives across a single rack. Up to ten Universal Drive Controller modules can be installed in one AutoMax rack, allowing control of as many as twenty drives, with UDCs able to share rack space alongside other Reliance drive control modules. The 57652-A is designed as a dedicated UDC module for AutoMax racks and is addressed within the rack configuration to the specific drives connected to ports A and B. The module includes non-volatile flash memory to store UDC tasks, drive configuration information, and operating system components for the UDC and Power Module Interfaces, supporting persistent configuration and rapid startup after power cycles. Typical deployments place multiple UDCs across a DPS rack to coordinate drive parameters for automated equipment, CNC, material handling, or other motor-control applications, delivering centralized management of drive settings without needing separate controllers for each drive.
