Raychem WCSF 1000-6U Heat Shrink Tubing is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant, radiation-resistant, heat-shrinkable insulation solution in a 6-inch length designed for nuclear environments. It ships pre-coated with a hot-melt, radiation-resistant adhesive to form a tight environmental seal around joints, and an internal sealant option melts during shrinkage to enhance sealing and radiation protection. Rated for electrical insulation up to 1000 V, WCSF tubing supports reliable insulation and sealing of Class 1E wiring and cable systems in accordance with IEEE 383. In addition to joints, it can be used for sealing, oversheath replacement, and strain relief throughout plant facilities, including applications inside reactor containment, with TE Raychem offering component kits for specific needs. The material is thick-wall yet flexible after shrinking and provides robust resistance to flame, radiation, and harsh environments, with nuclear-grade performance validated by thermal tests at normal temperature 90°C, overload 130°C, and short circuit 250°C in nuclear service contexts.
