Raychem 5XL2-CR Self-Regulating Pipe Heating Cable

Raychem 5XL2-CR XL-Trace Self-Regulating Heating Cable is a 208–277 V heat-trace solution designed for pipe freeze protection and flow maintenance. It outputs about 5 W per foot and features a 16 AWG copper conductor inside a modified polyolefin jacket, the cable about 0.56 inches wide and 0.24 inches thick. The assembly is rated for a maximum pipe temperature of 150°F, making it suitable for protecting above-ground and buried piping, including grease waste lines and fuel lines, from freezing and solidification. Long runs are available up to about 490 feet per coil, which allows you to cover extended piping routes in a single installation. As part of the Raychem XL-Trace family, the 5XL2-CR offers automatic wattage adjustment along its length in response to temperature, helping to optimize energy use while maintaining reliable protection. This self-regulating heat trace is commonly specified for plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems where freeze protection and intermittent temperature maintenance are critical.
