Allen-Bradley 1734-IR2E 2-Channel RTD Input Module

Allen-Bradley 1734-IR2E is a POINT I/O 24V DC, two-channel RTD input module designed for direct connection of Pt-based resistance temperature detectors in industrial automation. It provides two single-ended RTD inputs with an input range of 0–200 Ω per channel, enabling direct temperature sensing from RTD sensors while staying within a compact Point I/O footprint.

The module is open-style and DIN-rail mountable, intended to sit in a Point I/O rack and operate off a 24V DC supply. When wiring 2-wire RTDs, IN/B can be jumpered to RET, as described in the installation guidance, to accommodate the simpler sensor configuration while preserving measurement integrity. The 1734-IR2E outputs six bytes of input data (scanner Rx) plus fault status information, supporting straightforward diagnostics within a Rockwell Automation control system.

As part of the Point I/O family, the 1734-IR2E integrates with Allen-Bradley controllers via the Point I/O bus, making it suitable for temperature monitoring across industrial processes, climate control in HVAC applications, and equipment protection where accurate RTD measurements are essential in a 24V DC automation environment.
