Allen-Bradley 1756-OA16 16-Channel Analog Output Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-OA16 16-Channel Analog Output Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-OA16 is a ControlLogix 16-channel AC digital output module that directly switches 74–265 VAC loads, organized as two eight-point groups. Each point can carry up to 0.5 A at 60 °C, with a module-wide maximum of 4 A and total backplane power of 2.1 W; the backplane current is 400 mA at 5 V and 2 mA at 24 V. The unit is rated for 120/240 VAC loads and operates at 47–63 Hz, with an isolation voltage of 250 V. Fusing is provided per group with 3.15 A at 250 V AC slow-blow (Littelfuse p/n H2153.15), using removable terminal blocks 1756-TBNH or 1756-TBSH. On/off delays are 9.3 ms for Off-to-On at 60 Hz (11 ms at 50 Hz) and the module supports surge currents up to 5 A per point (43 ms, repeatable every 2 s) and 15 A per group for short durations. Power dissipation maxes at 6.5 W at 60 °C, with a total backplane power of 2.1 W. The 1756-OA16 uses two 8-point output groups and accepts standard 0.33–2.1 mm2 (22–14 AWG) wire through the appropriate removable terminal blocks. This module is designed for ControlLogix systems to drive AC loads such as relays, contactors, or other AC actuators, providing 16 discrete outputs with defined timing, safety margins, and protective fusing for industrial automation applications.
