Industrial SXP-320A Converter UNMP

ATEN SXP-320A is a bidirectional RS-232C to Centronics serial/parallel converter that lets Centronics printers and RS-232 devices communicate directly. It uses a DB-25 RS-232C (DCE) connector and a C-36 Centronics port, and can switch between serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial operation via an eight-segment DIP switch. The SXP-320A has no built-in memory (the SXP-325A includes a 512 KB buffer memory); baud rates from 1200 to 115200 bps are selectable, and the parallel transfer rate for the non-buffered unit is 11.52 KB/s. It supports both hardware handshaking and XON/XOFF software handshaking. The unit is powered by an included AC adapter rated at 9 V and 200 mA, and the kit ships with the converter and a user manual. For use, connect RS-232 devices to the DB-25 port and Centronics devices to the 36-pin Centronics port, choosing the direction and speed via the DIP switches; typical applications include linking a PC’s RS-232 port to a Centronics printer or bridging serial peripherals to parallel receivers.
