Description:

The BD 5936 Standstill Monitor by DOLD (sold under the Safemaster line) is a DIN-rail mounted safety relay that detects motor standstill on 1‑ or 3‑phase asynchronous drives and switches its output accordingly. It monitors the induction voltage between Z1 and Z2 and, if the voltage falls toward zero, activates the output relay to indicate standstill while also detecting line faults between measurement inputs. The unit provides two normally open and two normally closed contacts (suitable for interlocks and control logic) with a rated current of up to 5 A at 230 VAC, and it is designed for reliable standstill monitoring in industrial automation environments. The auxiliary supply is 230 VAC (50/60 Hz) in the BD5936.17 variant, with DIN-rail mounting and screw-terminal connections for both input and output circuits. Its compact 45 mm width fits standard 35 mm DIN rails, and the front panel is orange, featuring LED indicators for motor standstill, line breakage, and operating voltage to aid diagnostics. Typical applications include safeguarding motor-driven conveyors, packaging lines, and other automated equipment where confirming true motor standstill is critical for safe operation or subsequent control actions. The BD 5936 family is explicitly described as a standstill monitoring relay for both 3‑ and 1‑phase motors, offering safety-related monitored outputs that respond when standstill is detected or when a fault in the measurement circuit occurs.
